Climate and impact rooms in Germany

If you are building climate, food-system, or social-impact work in Germany, start with rooms that already pick a problem. ProVeg Incubator in Berlin is for alternative proteins. RESPOND in Munich is for clean-tech that has to leave the lab. The Impact Hub network is community plus funded programmes. Haus tags Climate as an industry filter on the programs directory. Use that chip, then read the official page, because the cohort, the equity, and the next date live there.

Rooms that already pick a problem

ProVeg Incubator, based in Berlin, still calls itself the first incubator for plant-based, fermentation, and cultivated-food startups. The live offer on their site is Fast-track To Impact: mentoring, pitching, fundraising, branding, IP, and a network they claim has backed 130+ startups from 38+ countries since 2018. Their FAQ says applications are open year-round on a rolling basis. Those files are reviewed in scouting periods, so “rolling” does not mean you start on Monday. Haus lists the program among Berlin programs. Open the official page for the current scouting window.

RESPOND is the BMW Foundation’s platform, run with UnternehmerTUM. Official copy describes about six months, online-first, with three in-person events in Germany or Europe. The program is free of charge and takes no equity. Two accelerator tracks sit on the site, Energy and Urban, plus a separate Scaleup path for later-stage clean-tech. Haus lists it among Munich programs, which matches the UnternehmerTUM gravity.

How the Impact Hub network is organised

Impact Hub Berlin publishes a programmes portfolio and a general application if nothing on the current list fits. Past editions on that page include Climate Action, AI for Climate Action, and an Impact Incubator Climate Tech track. Those editions are history until they reopen. Treat the page as a switchboard for whatever is live, not as a promise that last year’s track is still taking files. If you need a weekly room in the city, the Hub is the door. If you need a six-month clean-tech curriculum, RESPOND is the sharper instrument.

The other German Hubs on Haus each have their own product. Karlsruhe is coworking, advice, and a cooperative. Stuttgart sells itself as ecosystem plus accelerator in Bad Cannstatt and claims seven Hubs in Germany. Munich is hosting and coworking for purpose-driven teams. Leipzig is a member network with workspace in Plagwitz. Join a Hub when you need a room and a network, and apply to a named programme when you need a cohort with a start date.

How to filter climate work on Haus

On the programs directory, Climate is an industry chip rather than a separate hub URL. Pair it with city or type when you already know the bottleneck. Climate Founders lists a remote accelerator and co-founder matching. Haus places the institution in Unna. Their site cites 18 portfolio companies and €66.9 million in follow-on. The homepage we opened does not publish a clean equity line, so read the accelerator page before you treat the listing as a 0% deal.

Freiburg has a parallel green-tech stack. smart green is a Green-Tech hub. Grünhof’s Social Innovation Lab is for social and common-good work. Those are different jobs even when the language overlaps. Use the open applications hub when you want a live cycle, then confirm the date on the operator site. A Climate tag only tells you the industry.
